After we already launched several books for various external clients, such as the Panta Rhei or the IG BSSW, in the past few years, we can finally report completion. It had been planned for a while, but now we could really make it happen. The first self-published book will be available from May 18, 2021. It is now available for order via this link: https://www.ats-aquashop.de/en/products/books/pims-pimelodidae-heptapteridae-and-pseudopimelodidae-catfishes/ Together with the British author Steven Grant, an aquarist and amateur ichthyologist who specializes in loaches and catfishes, we have produced our first book. It covers the Antennal Catfishes of the families Pimelodidae, Heptapteridae and Pseudopimelodidae. On 224 pages we will present this group of fishes in 41 genera and more than 120 species in detail in pictures and words. Besides the 288 color photos, information about their synonyms, common names, identification, ecology, size, how to keep and feed them in the aquarium will be presented. This book will likely be an invaluable guide for aquarists and ichthyologists about the superfamily Pimelodoidea, or “Pims.” We will then publish another book in the fall of 2021. This one will then cover the catfish genus Ancistrus. It will then be probably the most comprehensive monograph on this genus.
